Dawn Patrol - Ging Gang Goo!
I think I acquired this record as part of a Job Lot as 1989 is generally outside the era I collect, the foster child was a member of the Girl Guides for a time and went to one camp, she loved it and was looking forward to going again but left the Guides before the next camp, she was also a member of the local Church Choir, part of the requirement for the award she was aiming for required her to attend a residential choir course, she was dead against this, she was eventually persuaded to go on return she changed her mind and wanted to go again, she went to at least another five.

Jan & Kelly - And Then He Kicked Me
This record got quite a bit of airplay, and being often played on Two Way Family Favourites, none of their records made the charts, for a time I had the opening bars of this record as the ring tone on my mobile phone.
Jan would in the 1970's be a regular on the Children's TV show Crackerjack, the Wikipedia entry for Jan Hunt has no mention of her Jan & Kelly days.
My copy of this record is a normal stock copy, the records with 'Sample Record' stickers are part of the quality control process, when records were being manufactured one in every hundred records was played, if the record had a fault on the play back all the records pressed sing the previous record played were rejected, the records that were played had the 'Sample Record' sticker added and were sold at a discount in the staff shop, and not as a few people think that they are Demonstration records.
Computer Failure
The power supply for my PC decided to give up the ghost a couple of weeks ago, it died on the Friday night, my local computer shop does not open on a Saturday so it was Monday before I could get it in for repairs, I was using my stand by PC for some reason the settings are different, as the two posts I started did not register on the blog, it also still shows my 'Forgotten Vinyl' blog, I opened the blog and the posts were still there the links had gone as the server account was closed, the site was used for the budget labels such as Embassy, Cannon, Big Six & Avenue, for some reason long forgotten I put the Topo Gigio and Wilfred Lawson records on the site, much to my surprise the links to the Topo Gigio were still working and the link to the 'b' side of the Wilfred Lawson record was still active, I may have been testing different servers before I decided to go with DivShare, later DivShare had some problems and then just disappeared, I think I lost two tracks some people lost irreplaceable recordings, the two I lost I must have deleted them accidentally from the back up memory, I still had the 45, so I redid the recording, I don't think I ever replaced all the lost links.
The picture is of a young Biscuit, she will be 5 years old next Sunday 16th February, the Rainy Days money box was started when a Planet Industrials announced that they were going to produce a model of a Kerr Stuart 'Victory' 0-6-0T locomotive, being one of my favourite loco's I started saving towards the cost, the models came out a couple of years ago, I am still adding to the fund though the loco's are long paid for.

Jack Douglas - Don't Forget The Beer, Dear
I do not recall ever hearing this 1978 release, at the time of it's release I was working a lot of overtime and was not listening to the radio much, this copy was acquired in a job lot.
Car Troubles
On Wednesday after doing the shopping I went to start the car, turned the ignition and click, I thought Oh F**k, it's the same problem I had with the car while on holiday in July, I got my son to drive to the car park in his car, to see if we could jump start the car, I have a set of jump leads in the car from going out to jump start my sons car in the past, but no luck, I called the motoring organisation I belong to, they took my details and advised me there is a 2 hour wait for the mechanic, after about 20 minuet's the mechanic calls me he is on his way and where in the car park am I, he tries to jump start it but no luck, in the end he bump started it, I was told don't turn the engine off, I drove round to the dealers and managed to book it in, it was a failed starter motor, it was also found that I had a small leak from the thermostat housing I had that delt with at the same time, both parts had to be ordered in, so I though a wait of a couple of days, to my surprise I got a text the next day, 'your car is ready for collection'.
