Bee Gees - First Of May

While looking through the records in one Charity Shop there was a pristine copy of the Bee Gees - First Of  May, my original copy is somewhat worn, I was a bee Gees fan and had most of their LP.'s but fiances would not let me afford the double album 'Odessa' but lucky for me they later released it as 2 single albums at 99p each on Polydors budget 99 label.

Some early publicity shows that the catalogue number allocated to this record was going to be the title track from the double LP Odessa as Odessa Part 1 as the 'A' side and Odessa Part 2 as the 'B' side, this was amended quite early to First Of May and Lamplight.

There were tensions within the Bee Gees at this time, Vince Melorney had left the Bee Gees after I've Gotta' Get A Message To You, it was a remark about First Of May by a DJ that caused Robin Gibb to leave the Bee Gees, I can remember hearing the remark but I can not recall which which DJ it was, he said " I see that Robin has been relegated to the "B" side".

Recently I managed to find the one Bee Gees single that had eluded me "To Love Somebody".
