Hughie Green - Stand Up And Be Counted

Released 1977.

I have heard a number of stories about how this record came about, it was the last record by Hughie Green and his career went into decline after this record. it was almost 50 years ago that this record was released  21st January 1977, very few if any of the people involved with this record are around now, the television companies that Hughie Green worked for no longer exist, it is unlikely that any additional details about this record will surface.

Monica Rose & Hughie Green - Clap Your Hands

The 'B' side of Cuddle Up Baby, the credits list Monica Rose first.

I was in Torbay last week and visited number of Charity Shops, one shop was selling 45's at 4 for a pound they had about 40 singles, the next shop they were 50p each at the next shop they were  asking £2 they has loads of singles I did not bother to look, the sleeves said they were all late 70's and 80's releases.

For many years the most common Charity Shop  record used to be Ken Dodd - Tears, it still is one of the United Kingdoms 5 biggest selling records of all time, on my travels I found 8 copies of Miki & Griff - Rockin' Alone (In An Old Rocking Chair) making this the most common charity Shop record, there were no Kenn Dodd records in any of the shops.

Peter Cowap - Crickets

The first of 3 singles by Peter Cowap release 31st July 1970, the last single had a re-issue 4 years later.

On the original blog I had a request for a record about Crickets the person did not know the title or artist but remembered how the chorus went, listening to some tracks on Thursday Morning this one came up, and I thought this is this that elusive track.
