The Cherryhill Trio - Fluff ( The Velvet Dragon)

I first came across this 1963 record on one of the Late Mark Bird's - Whacky Classics You May Have Missed CD's, these CD's are long out of production, originally there were going to be 5 CD's in the series however it grew to 20 CD's there may be 21 as one was ready for issue about the time he passed away, the series was going to be expanded to 25 CD's, the Cherryhill Trio issued a second single under the name The Hollyhill Singers, this record did not have a UK release.

Abandoned Car Epsom

A visit to the Ebbisham car park in Epsom yesterday, while searching for a vacant bay, I came across this modified Beetle, it looks like some parts have been liberated, but looks largely intact, the engine is still in place, I was tempted to put the registration into the self pay machine to see how much the parking charge would be. I hate this car park and was only using it as Madam had to go to her bank and this is the nearest car park to her bank, she now has difficulty walking any distance. I am in Epsom again on Monday as I have an eye test (my sight has suddenly deteriorated), if  the car is still there I may see how big a parking charge it has racked up. A few years ago in the Brighton Marina car park, maximum stay 4 hours, there was a car parked there of over two years.

Cowboy Church Sunday School - It Is No Secret

The first of the Cowboy Church Sunday School records, my copy came from the now defunct Leg Of Mutton Boot Sale at Cobham, I remember the queue of cars going right back onto the A3 and causing delays, there were 2 copies of this record there, it was a long time before I found another   Cowboy Church Sunday School record.

Sorry this track is not on YouTube

Cowboy Church Sunday School - Go On By

At the original release date for these records Decca who produced the Brunswick label records has a tri-centre, so far on 45Cat only the original release has turned up with a tri-centre, the records were available for quite a time and have a number of different pressings.

New Records

On Wednesday I picked up some new records, it was about 100 45's, 8 LP's, 6 78's and 3 CD's, in the haul were 2 Tiny Tim singles, a Max Bygraves EP, the 2 Jimmy Skinner EP's and a number of other obscure records.

Cowboy Church Sunday School - Don't Send Those Kids To Sunday School

I first came across a Cowboy Church Sunday School record at the now long defunct Leg Of Mutton Boot Sale at Cobham where I came across two copies of It's No Secret both on Tri-Centres, I acquired the better of the two, none of their other records ever turned up at the Boot Sales, I was sent a record by someone that did not have enough postage paid so I had to go into Epsom to pay the excess postage, car parking was a minimum of one hour so after collecting the record I thought I've just got enough time to get to the first Charity Shop to see if they had any 45's, I get there and go to the box and literally the first three records were all by the Cowboy Church Sunday School, I brought all three not remembering the one I already had, getting home I checked and they were the three I did not have, the records are sung by adult women and then speeded up  Chipmunk style, to sound like children.

This promotional copy came from the Hook Road Arena Boot Sale one of the dealers put it to one side knowing it was the type of record I was interested in, at the time this record was released the Decca group for some reason issued their promotional records as two single sided records one with the "A" side the other with the "B" side, over the years they get split from each other and it's rare to find both records together. This scan is of my copy of the  record, I will assume the You Tube recording is also my recording, I have never posted on You Tube, proving which recordings originated from my blog is almost impossible unless it is from the short time I was using a water mark or it is a distinctive record label.
