Estelle - In The Year 2000

Estelle full name Estelle Bennett was one of the Ronettes, this solo recording was released in 1968, it does not seem to have had a UK release, I first came across the recording on the CD "Still Dead - The Grim Reapers Juke Box" .

Herbert Floog - Ballad Of The Crutty Men

Having already lost interest in the forthcoming election, thinking it maybe another time I just write on my polling form None Of The Above, thoughts went back the the elections in 1964 the Goons issued a LP How Not To Win An Election or Lose By Much, another rarer LP issued for the same election was Vote For Us, my copy came from New Zealand, and is credited to Herbert Floog, the UK issue is credited as 7 comedians, 6 who are not Peter Sellers and the 7th one isn't either, I used to put an occasional LP track on the blog I put one from the Vote For Us LP on the blog, someone contacted me realising if I had that track I must have the LP, they had been searching for a copy for years and not found a copy, I told him I had a copy, mine being a New Zealand issue, it was then that he told me it is a very rare LP by Leon Rossington he also wanted to know where the Herbert Floog came from, I said it's the name used for the artist when it was issued in New Zealand. I ended up loading the tracks onto the server and sending him the links where they were put on another blog, the only time I ever uploaded an LP

My copy picked up for £1 plus I also got a number of other Leon Rossington LP's at the same time, unfortunately on my copy in its history some one was looking at the record and had a cigarette in their mouth and a small piece of hot ash landed on the record and damaged it, the cleaning program I used managed to restore most of the damage. A bit more digging it looks like the whole LP and many more of Leon Rossington's tracks are available for download.

Derby Day

One day I always try to avoid going into Epsom is Derby day, to  get to the Race Course until the Derby all the roads are one way up to the downs after the Derby all the roads switch to the opposite direction. Many years ago I worked nights and would be coming home between 07.00 -   08.30 part of my route Tolworth. Ruxley Lane & Chessington road I would be behind the open top busses going to the Derby, some of the passengers looked to be well oiled, I often wondered did they get to see the Derby.

Well this year I had to go into Epsom I had another bout of Cystitis, so it was a trip to Epsom Hospital, as I went through Epsom on the Bus at about 08.10 it was almost deserted, in the Hospital I had a Blood test, urine sample, then at 10.30 I was discharged with anti biotics, the  annoying thing was that I had been given a medication to stop me getting any further occurrences of  Cystitis, the busses leaving Epsom were almost empty the ones arriving were packed, the pubs were very busy, after the racing has finished Epsom closes, also the pubs in the surrounding area used to close Derby Day evening.

I can now post and edit posts on my new PC I was something quite minor in the end on the new PC it had defaulted to my Gmail address, on the other PC,s the default is my BT   address.

Bank Holiday Boot Sale

I arrived at 07.30 sellers were still arriving, there were a number of stalls selling records today but I only brought 2 and was given a third. I did take some pictures of the Boot Sale unfortunately they did not come out well, I had taken the camera fishing with me and the lens had got rather grubby

The first was a Ronnie Ronalde EP, I had not seen this one before.

The second was a Jimmie Rogers record that I did not have, while I was on the record stall (I always end up there, it is the first stall you come to as you enter the boot sale, some one was showing the singles he had brought the first one was Jeremy Taylor -  Ag Pleeze Deddy on the Gallotone Lable, he had paid £15 I brought my copy also on the South African Gallotone Label for £1. I always enter at the far end as it is literally at the end of the road I live in), I ended up buying 20 CD's, and he said I have a number of records for you, my usual mix Christmas Records, Novelty etc, the "Crap" records are referred too  as "Robin Records"  I will meet him in one of the local pubs and buy the ones I want.

The third record was the single from the boxed Winston Churchill  boxed set of his famous speeches, in the early Boot Sale Days the set was quite common but I haven't seen one  for a few years, the odd thing about the sets they were almost all in mint condition, with the records not having been played.

A number of unusual items crop up at Boot Sales this one was no different one stall was selling a complete Professional Tattoo outfit another had a number of medical monitoring items these were old but working. Items that were missing were PC's, Laptops. TV's and Stereo systems though there were a few record decks though they were in poor condition.

As I was mentioning Jeremy Taylor - Ag Pleeze Deddy.

For some reason most of the records on You Tube have the last verse missing, in the UK it was issued on the Decca label later it had a Politicly Correct later release on the Pye label minus the last verse,

I have seen more South African Gallotone Copies than  the UK Decca pressings

This record may offend

Unfortunately no one has posted the politicly correct version on You Tube.
